Candidate for Assistant Secretary
A native North Carolinian, Nellie Greer has lived in Wake County for 50 years. She has represented her community as a volunteer leader since her retirement in 2008, where she served as a corporate credit manager and project manager for 23 years.
Nellie has volunteered in many capacities. She was an officer for the Western Wake Republican Club, former precinct chair, and member of the Wake GOP communications team. She was the grassroots campaign manager for a former NC Senator and held positions as the representative-at-large for the 13th Congressional District, as well as chapter leader of the Cary/Apex Concerned Women for America. Most recently, Nellie set up & managed Wake GOP Office/Store in Holly Springs & helped update the organization’s website. In 2019, she started the AMAC Action Group for NC Congressional District 02.
Nellie is an associate member of: Capital Area Republican Women Virtual Club, Wake County Republican Women’s Club, Republican Women of Cary and Southwestern Wake, and Western Wake Republican Club. In addition to her extensive work in politics, Nellie is actively involved at her church, where she has worked as a full-time volunteer ministry assistant, First Impressions team, and helped start its Stephen Ministry. She has also volunteered as a GED tutor at the Healing Place and as a mentor with Jobs for Life. She is a member of Well-Armed Women, and a volunteer with O.U.R (Operation Underground Railroad- to rescue children from sex trafficking).
Nellie attended William Peace University & Gardner Webb University. Nellie is widowed and has a son, daughter-in-law and grandson living in Cary.
